Remodeling take part oh who knows anymore!

This past weekend we decided it High time to get the kitchen floor underway.   Friday night Michael started tearing up the wood flooring since it has been water damaged over a year ago.  That part was the easy part.  The hard part was taking up TWO layers of vinyl flooring.  What a pain in the butt!  But honestly it came up pretty good.  We worked all day Saturday on it and then didn't work on it at all Sunday.  Got up early today and got a move on it.  By 5 pm the floor was ready to go.  As we were discussing things I thought it would be a good idea to scrape the ceiling of the popcorn and the walls of the sand texture that the previous owners had put up.  We thought that doing this would be better now than with brand new tile on the floor.

So as it stands right now, the floor is ready to be tiled.  The ceiling is ready for paint.  The walls are ready for a little touch up and then onto texturing and painting.  BUT... we got to looking at the ceiling in that is over the kitchen. We have HATED that was so low.  Well Michael decided to look into it and see if it was just lowered or it was the actually ceiling.  To our surprise it was just lowered and the real ceiling is still intact.  So tomorrow brings moving things again  and we are bring the ceiling down! OH yeah!  So once that is done then it will be onto doing all the other things.

I will post pictures soon of this MONSTER project!  The kids were awesome this weekend.  They pitched in and helped us out.  Scraping the floor, taking bucket loads to the trash and helping with babies.  All I can is this better turn out how we want it!  LOL
