Hoover Dam

After driving down the strip we headed out to Boulder City to meet up with my parents and head to the Hoover Dam. The drive out there was a little while because there is so much traffic for that little two lane road. But they are in the process of building a new bridge that goes over the canyon. After next year you will no longer be able to drive across the dam.

It's amazing to see this thing in person. I have always heard about it and wanted to see it for myself. We decided to do the half tour because the two little ones couldn't go any further than that.

First you go in and watch a short movie about how the Hoover Dam was built. The amazing thing to Michael and I was that it only took them 5 yrs to build this. This Dam is massive! After we watched the movie we got into an elevator and headed down. At the first floor you go to you walk into this room where there is this HUGE PIPE! It's vibrating so much and so loud that you could barely hear what the lady had to say. Come to find out it was the water passing through the pipe that was causing all that vibrating. Then you go back in the elevator and they take you to the turbine floor. NOW THIS IS AMAZING! I was very quite impressed with this. After this you get back on the elevators and proceed back up to the top.

If you are ever there in Vegas take the drive out and see it! It's amazing.
