Day 5

For some reason, I was the only one up at 4am this morning.  I don't know why I was awake.  Oh wait could have been the coughing that woke me.  LOL  Oh well, went back to sleep and woke to my phone buzzing with a message from Michael.  Gotta love moments like that.  Rolled over and the clock said 7. The kids were all still sleeping.  So I just LET them!  Most of them didn't wake until after 9.  I guess we needed some much needed rest around here.

Got the kids breakfast and then started to plan out lunches and menus for the next couple of weeks.  As I was planning and chatting with the kids, I looked up at the clock and realized it was 11!  OH NO! I was suppose to be dropping Sarah and Laurel by Brittany's house in 30 minutes.  Well we definitely were running late today.  Brittany is such a lifesaver! Our kids get along so well.  We are going to be sad when they move.  But thankfully we will only be 2 hours away from each other when we move.   We will definitely have to have play dates at the beach or something!

Today was Samuel and Mel's first game for Basketball and Cheer leading.  Samuel won Player of the week for his team.  That was really neat to see that happen.  He has some really awesome coaches.  On them used to play for Baylor University.  Samuel did a awesome job at defense today.  He took the ball away quite a few times.  Shooting on the other hand we need to work on.  But I think we have FINALLY found his sport.  

Melody had a great time cheering as well!  She did a great job.  Her team is the largest one.  Mel takes after me in being able to do the splits. When I was her age I could go all the way down as well.  Now, I don't think I am that flexible anymore.

After their games I was suppose to go grocery shopping but I didnt' make it. Didn't get everything ready. So I will have to go on Tuesday after the gym.  Hopefully I can get it done before I have to pick up Sarah from school.

I find it wonderful that my family loves to watch the Disney Channel and nothing else. We are getting excited about the new episodes that come on tomorrow night.  Got a call from my good friend that understands everything tonight.  Thanks Jenn for the talk even though it was short.   Michael called again and it was great to chat with him.  Although the phone call got dropped I still enjoyed hearing his voice. 

I just want people to know that the only reason my blog updates to Face book is so that Michael can see it.  That's his only way of keeping up with us.  So I am sorry if you feel that I am posting this to get attention. I am not.  It's my life and yes we chose to take this assignment.  But it doesn't make it any easier on us.  I am so thankfully for everyone that shows their support for us.  But most of all I am so thankful for my parents, sisters and my brother and their families.  I am so glad that they keep in touch with me everyday.  I love you guys more than anything!  I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father and the strength he gives me to get through each day.  I have been thinking about so many of my friends that are or have been in my shoes.  I am so grateful to them for showing the great strength they have to make it threw this!
