Update on the AC

So there's good news and bad news. The good news is that yesterday as Michael came home from Church to change his shirt (since Sarah had an accident on it) the AC repair guys pulled up behind him. They installed a temporary unit until we could get a new one put in.

Bad news, We have to have the entire system replace. Inside and outside and that includes the heater as well. Along with all the eletrical and possibly the duct work as well. Our system is 12 yrs old, installed in a not so safe manner. The AC unit outside was never grounded and things just kept getting worse everytime he did some else to try to fix the problem. He adviced us that the best option is to get a new system.

So today someone is suppose to call us and set up an appointment to come and look at our wonderful mess and tell us how much it's going to cost us in the long run. We are probably looking at 4000 to 6000 dollars just depending on how much they really have to do. But who knows with this house. So we are expecting it to be the higher end since everything has gone that way with everything else in this house.

The BEST NEWS IS we have AC! I am so thankful for that! You don't realize how much you enjoy it being cool in your house when it's 100+ outside!

Yikes - no AC! We had no power last night for 4+ hours and I felt like I was roasting. I'm glad it is working right now. Do you guys live off base?

Unfortunely we do live off base. We bought a house shortly after we moved here and now are wondering why we didn't buy the new one! LOL

Sorry to hear that your power went out. I would rather have that then replace AC. LOL
